A Cedar Cabin in the Olympic Foothills
Twelve acres of moss and fern in the Pacific Northwest. The cabin has a sleeping loft and a wood stove. The owner asks for help with the garden and the goats.
Built by hand in 1981 by a Quaker who has since moved to be near her grandchildren. She would like a steady, kind person on the land — preferably someone who can tend two goats, keep deer from the kale, and split firewood for winter. The salmon return each November. The owner returns once each spring.
Terms of the arrangement
Free residence and a share of the garden's bounty. The hermit shall be kind to the goats and to any visitor who finds their way up the road.
