An Adirondack Cabin Beside Black Pond
Off-grid cabin on 80 acres of forest in upstate New York. Seeking a hermit to watch the land and befriend the loons.
Wood-stove warmth, kerosene lamps, a porch facing east. The owner visits twice a year. The hermit is asked to keep the trails clear of fallen branches and to maintain the canoe by the dock. Solitude guaranteed.
Terms of the arrangement
Free lodging and a stipend of firewood. The hermit shall not entertain visitors. A weekly letter to the owner is welcomed but never required.
